Jesse Gardner

I am an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Clemson University's Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business. I earned my Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business (2023). My research explores Capital Markets, Earnings Quality, Economic Development, Equity Duration, Financial Statement Analysis, International Disclosure, Large Language Models, Taxation, and Valuation.

Before pursuing my Ph.D., I gained industry experience as a senior tax associate at PwC in New York City, where I spent three years rotating between the Real Estate and M&A tax groups. I am a licensed CPA in New York and hold a master’s degree in Business Taxation from the University of Southern California (2014) and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Information Systems from Virginia Tech (2013).
